#2' Van alle filmgenres is pornografie de meest rigide en de minst verrassende. Het laten zien van de seksuele daad aan de hand van niets aan de verbeelding overlatende beelden in een vastliggende afwikkeling van handelingen naar een éénduidig slot, leidt al snel tot pure verveling. ‘XXX-Revised #2’ is een compilatie van (door de snelheid van het medium deels verborgen) snapshots uit porno-dvd's. Het pornografische beeldbestand is onleed en terug gesneden naar de bron van seksualiteit: verlangen en verleiding. Bevrijd uit hun inhoudsloze context en ontdaan van het begeleidende geluid, zijn deze beelden in principe geneutraliseerd. Ze staan open voor interpretatie, waarbij een beroep wordt gedaan op de erotische fantasie van de kijker. Er groeien rozen op de mestvaalt. (juni 2006) |

inexorably towards a one-dimensional ending, pornography quickly
leads to pure boredom.'XXX-Revised #2' is a compilation of snapshots from porn DVDs. The pornographic picture files have been analysed and trimmed back to the source of sexuality: desire and seduction. Freed from their meaningless context and stripped of their soundtrack, these pictures have been neutralised. They are now open to interpretation; they appeal to the viewer’s erotic fantasy.
